I was doing general hunting/research for the ol blog and came across this interesting anomily: you tend to think of google as an intense resevior of info, but it's actually quite skewed. For example, plug the name of this Thai actress who starred in nearly 300 films in the 60's/70's into the image search and you get less than a dozen results, several of them redundant. That seems very strange to me. True, it can only search what has been put up on the net...but it's still weird.
So anyway, I'm curious for more info on her beyond wikipedia, first hand accounts and fandom I guess is what I'm asking for. What ya got, tribe?

Thu, August 24, 2006 - 8:35 AMGoogle is all-too easily tweak-able. It's based on rankings that is determined by how many requests certain keywords get, and there are many ways to get on top of that list.
I never found the image search to be very useful, better to search for sites using keywords "[name] photos" "[name] films" "[name] photostills" etc. Then you can find people who create galleries of such things. I used to collect tons of low-quality photos this way.
