Just saw part 1 at the Asian American Film Fest, and downloaded part 2. Like "Kill Bill," you need to see both parts. (Wait, I take that back -- NOBODY "needs" to see "Kill Bill.")
Anyway, it's a live action two-part movie adapted from manga, and it revels in its comic book roots. But don't think that this is a horror film; it's more like a black comedy crossed with a detective thriller.
It's a very fun, over-the-top, weird and entertaining set of films that just get stranger and funnier as the story progresses. I really enjoyed them, especially the lethal battle of wits that ensues between the various characters. I don't want to say too much -- best to see this film without knowing anything about it. And it's uniquely Japanese in execution and narrative, since although much is explained, much is also left ambiguous.
Well worth seeing -- check it out!
