Red doors are supposed to bring good luck. The Wongs, a bizarrely dysfunctional Chinese-American family living in the New York suburbs, need all the help they can get. Ed Wong (Tzi Ma, The Ladykillers, Rush Hour) has just retired and plots to escape his mundane life. But the tumultuous, madcap lives of his devoted wife (Freda Foh Shen, A Mighty Wind), and his three rebellious daughters change his plans. Samantha (Jacqueline Kim, Charlotte Sometimes) decides to reexamine her life as she approaches 30; Julie (Elaine Kao) meets the woman of her dreams at a weekly ballroom dance class; and Katie (Kathy Shao-Lin Lee) engages in an elaborate prank war with her longtime neighbor and nemesis.
RED DOORS was produced by Blanc de Chine Entertainment, which writer/director Georgia Lee formed with her Harvard friends and fellow producers, Jane Chen and Mia Riverton. RED DOORS is an Emerging Pictures release.
